Edwin Low

Edwin Low is a GIP Partner, having joined in March 2024. Before GIP, Edwin spent 29 years at Credit Suisse based in Singapore.

Edwin joined Credit Suisse First Boston in Singapore in 1996 as a first-year associate in the Investment Banking Department and rose to assume leadership roles within the investment banking division including Co-Head of Asia Pacific Investment Banking and Capital Markets from 2015 to 2022. During his 7 years running the Investment Bank in Asia Pacific, Credit Suisse was named “Best Investment Bank in Asia” by various publications including Euromoney, IFR, and The Asset for 4 consecutive years from 2017-2020.

In December 2023, Edwin left Credit Suisse where his last role was CEO Asia Pacific and Executive Board member of Credit Suisse AG, overseeing over 21,000 full time employees in Asia Pacific. In the public sector, Edwin previously served as a Board member of The National Art Gallery, Singapore where he was Chairman of the Acquisitions Committee for 2 terms from 2011 to 2013. He was also appointed by the President of Singapore to serve on the Istana (Palace) Art Acquisition Committee from 2011 to 2014.

Prior to moving to Singapore in 1996, Edwin lived in Australia and graduated B.Juris (Hons) and LLB (Hons) from the University of Western Australia and MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales (Carlton & United Breweries Award winner). Prior to Credit Suisse, Edwin was a corporate lawyer with Mallesons Stephen Jacques in Australia.
