Ed Winter

Edward Winter, Partner, joined GIP Mid-Market Team in 2018. Mr. Winter, based in London, is responsible for origination, structuring, execution, monitoring, and exit strategy for investments across sectors in Europe and the Middle East. For the Mid-Market Team, Mr Winter leads or has led investments in ADNOC Oil Pipelines, AirFirst, Aramco Gas Pipelines, Calisen, Kellas Midstream, Jafurah Midstream Gas Company, Medgaz, Saudi Bahrain Pipeline and Tata Renewable Energy. Mr Winter has more than 20 years experience working across the infrastructure sector.

Prior to joining the Mid-Market Team, Mr. Winter was a Managing Director with Macquarie Group’s Macquarie Capital, most recently in their London office, where he was leading Macquarie Capital’s European conventional energy business as part of the Energy & Infrastructure Group. As part of this, he has had a specific focus on the energy sector, primarily in the midstream energy sector.

Mr. Winter graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and from INSEAD with a Masters of Finance.
