Reiner Boehning is a Partner specializing in Credit. Mr. Boehning joined GIP in 2012 to co-found GIP’s Credit business. He leads GIP Credit’s origination functions, coordinating and overseeing GIP Credit’s sector coverage. He also focuses on GIP Credit’s Transport, Industrial, Water and Waste Infrastructure sectors. He is based in New York.
Mr. Boehning has over 30 years of professional and infrastructure-related experience. Prior to joining GIP, Mr. Boehning spent 16 years at Credit Suisse. From 2005 to 2012, he served as a Managing Director in the Leveraged Finance Origination and Restructuring Group, responsible for coordinating the origination, structuring and execution of leveraged finance transactions in the power, renewables, oil & gas, and other infrastructure sectors. From 2008, Mr. Boehning also held the position of Co-Head, and, ultimately, Head of the Global Project Finance Group at Credit Suisse.
Mr. Boehning received a Master’s Degree in Economics (Diplom-Volkswirt; with high honors) from Westfaelische-Wilhelms-University in Muenster, Germany. He also completed an apprenticeship as a logistics manager for railway and road transport in Germany.
